LG CNS has forged a Global Platinum Authorized Channel Partnership with Unity Technologies, the world’s top 3D platform company, to cooperate in the metaverse business.

The platinum level is a qualification granted only to partners who have many digital transformation (DX) experts, operate specialized DX sales organizations, and conduct the DX business on their own. Applying Unity’s new services to customers and having the ability to provide technical support are also essential conditions for receiving the Platinum level.

Through this partnership, the two companies will seek to innovate customer experience through three metaverse products — Virtual Factory, Virtual Logistics, and Metaverse Office. To this end, they will combine their core technical capabilities.

Headquartered in San Francisco in the United States, Unity is a platform company that creates and runs 3D content used in game engines, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). According to Unity, 72 percent of the world’s top 1,000 mobile games in sales last year were made based on the Unity platform. The number of downloads of applications developed through Unity exceeds approximately 5 billion a month on average. Various industries such as IT, aviation, shipbuilding, and entertainment are using the Unity platform to implement the metaverse and digital twins. The Unity platform is also known to be used for Meta’s Horizon World and Naver Jet’s ZEPETO.
