Defending ASUN Champions Begin Fall Practice

RICHMOND, Ky. –

Eastern Kentucky’s baseball team recently began its fall practice schedule. In addition to 12 intrasquad scrimmages, the Colonels will play a fall exhibition game at Wright State and wrap up fall practice with the annual Fall World Series.

The team held its first practice on Sept. 12 and played his first three scrimmages this past weekend.

EKU will travel to Dayton to play Wright State on Oct. 15 at 1 pm The two teams will play 14 innings.

The Fall World Series gets underway at 6 pm on Oct. 21. Game two is scheduled for Oct. 22 at 11 am The third game of the series will be played Oct. 23 at 12 pm

The remaining intrasquad scrimmage schedule is as follows:
Sept. 23 4 pm
Sept. 24 12 pm
Sept. 25 12 pm
Sept. 30 4 pm
Oct. 1 11 am
Oct. 7 4 pm
Oct. 8 12 pm
Oct. 9 12 pm
Oct. 14 4 pm

All scrimmages and the Fall World Series will be played at Earle Combs Stadium on the EKU campus.

Eastern Kentucky finished the 2022 season 38-20, champions of the ASUN Conference West Division and tied for the best conference record in the ASUN. It was the most wins for an EKU team since the 1990 squad won 42 games. The Colonels won all three of their games in pool play to earn a spot in the ASUN Tournament semifinals.
