Sport: FANtium raises €2m for its NFT investment platform

Announced on Tuesday, the FANTium fundraiser attracted many large Web3 angel investors such as Sebastien Borget, the co-founder of The Sandbox, Brian O’Haganmarketing manager at Sorare, Lucas von Cranachthe founder of OneFootball or even Itamar Lesuisse, the boss of Argent. Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem also participated in the financing round.

The platform created by the Zug-based start-up makes it possible to invest in future champions and thus “participate in their financial success in the real world”, according to a press release.

There are billions of sports fans who love to invest in athletes and be a part of their journey. By connecting these talents with the fans, we make the sport fairer because as a young athlete, your success no longer depends on your financial situation”, explained Jonathan Ludwig, CEO of FANtium.

Investors in Fantium receive in return a future share of income athletes – who can for example tokenize the amount of “prize money” – in the form of NFT.
