This is a first for a French media and a unique opportunity for its readers. At the beginning of the next school year, Le Parisien will offer 1000 unique NFTs for sale, related to the many benefits of the community, created from 100 historical front pages.
Selected by the editorial staff, these first pages highlight some of the most important events of today since 1944, the year of the creation of our newspaper, which was then called “Le Parisien liberated”. From the end of the Second World War to the victory of the Blues in 1998 and 2018, including the coronation of Elizabeth II, the loss of Princess Diana or the fire of Notre-Dame.
Low ecological impact
Important in the new generation of the Internet (Web3), the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) or “non-fungible token” has the function of a certificate of digital ownership of a virtual work. Their registration in a blockchain guarantees their traceability and builds trust for the owner, especially in the event of a sale.
For this project called “Crypto-unes”, Le Parisien chose to use the Polygon network, a highly energy-efficient blockchain in its operation and whose exchanges respect carbon neutrality.
Become a project pioneer
Future buyers will be able to buy some of the cryptocurrencies or with a simple bank card. The “mint”, the actual production of the pages in front of the collectors, takes place in the fall. In the meantime, prospective buyers can follow the progress of the project on the social network Twitter but also by joining the dedicated Discord group.
The first 500 to arrive will benefit from the advantages during the first “drop” as a pioneer of a new project in the world of mainstream print media.
