Launch of Horizon Worlds in France
Mark Zuckerberg has announced that his metaverse Horizon Worlds is starting to be deployed for users in France who are 18 years old. The idea is to provide a virtual reality platform where users can explore, play and create together.
To access this virtual world, you must have a Quest 2 virtual reality headset and go through the Meta registration platform.
The Meta continues its race into the metaverse
After launching in the United States and Canada late last year, Meta is now opening its Horizon Worlds virtual world in France and Spain, with other European countries expected to gain access this year as well.
Similarly, Meta launched monetization tools for creators in April to encourage them to join its virtual reality platform. Thus, Meta is doing everything to establish itself as the market leader in the metaverse, which could represent 5,000 billion dollars in 2030, according to McKinsey.
According to Meta figures from last February, Horizon Worlds has over 300,000 users and 10,000 worlds have been created.
