“We want it to be an icebreaker,” says Nicolas Petit, one of the co-founders of the virtual gallery application, Next Decade, with conviction. After the first experience of making NFTs, whose collections answer to the sweet name of Buns. land, the trio at the head of Next Decade, found themselves faced with a question: how to share their collection of NFTs with loved ones or simple strangers?
A showcase at the same time as a gateway to the metaverse
Accessible without registration fees, this platform offers its users a small 3D universe in the form of a pyramid, each block of which represents a gateway to a user’s profile. Liking, commenting, or following the activity of members is part of an experience very similar to that offered by Instagram, where “we took some codes”, he admitted.
In form, however, The Next Decade tends to approach the metaverse. “But unlike The Sandbox, which is almost a video game,” said Nicolas Petit. The metaverse for me is above all a place of digital interaction between people, then we put the form we want there. “An ecosystem in which the trio continues to work, in collaboration with the big names of luxury, with the goal of finally achieving “excellent 3D immersive experiences”.
Launched in June, the platform already hosts more than 100,000 NFTs, including works purchased directly by Next Decade. If currently most of the existing NFTs have an artistic vocation, Nicolas Petit is convinced: “In 10 years we will have NFTs for many things, like a car title with a blockchain system .A pleasant prospect for the Next Decade, whose first vocation is to “unite all NFT in one and easily accessible place”.
