The German car manufacturer announced at the Art Basel event in Miami that it will enter Web3. He will soon sell 7,500 NFTs of his legendary Porsche 911.
7,500 NFTs offered for sale from January 2023.
After Lamborghini, TAG Heuer, Prada or even Estée Lauder, it is the turn of the luxury car brand Porsche to offer its own NFTs for sale. A drop of 7,500 Non Fungible Tokens based on the most iconic house models, the Porsche 911.
More than a simple sale of NFTs, Porsche envisions this leak as a truly immersive experience for its new community. Owners will be invited to personalize their acquisition by choosing one of the three “routes” created by the brand: “performance”, “heritage” or even “lifestyle”. Three routes that will influence the final design of the virtual car.
For the occasion, Porsche announced that it is working with Hamburg-based designer and 3D artist Patrick Vogel to offer its owners a unique personalization of their NFT, with more than 150,000 possible variants.
To attract and sustain this new ultra-connected community, Porsche is also ensuring that lucky owners have access to exclusive physical and digital events.
Towards a global Web3 strategy.
But there is no question of staying in NFT, according to the statements of the management committee, Porsche wants to develop its global presence in Web3. “This project is an additional element of our digitalization strategy. Our Web3 team has full autonomy to develop projects in this direction. Porsche also sees the potential of the shopping experience, metaverse and supply chain .Issues of sustainable development are also being considered now”said Lutz Meschke, vice president of the brand in a press release.
The promise of a year 2023 full of projects for the prancing horse brand.
